Claudette Downs' - paintings have won numerous awards and grace private and public collections from coast to coast. Claudette maintains a studio in Alexandria, VA where she is happily fulfilling her lifetime dream of being an artist.

In addition to the Loft Gallery, Claudette exhibits in juried shows throughout the Washington metropolitan area. Her angel artwork is displayed at Unity of Fairfax and her handmade cards in retail Shops at Belle View.

Claudette creates her light-filled renderings using oil, acrylic, and pastels. She enjoys painting subjects ranging from landscapes, animals, portraits, and angels to abstracts. She brings her deeply-felt spiritual nature to her art, resulting in colorful images that offer a refuge from stress and a return to inner peace and joy. Largely self-taught and an admirer of the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists, Claudette has trained with well-known artists at workshops around the country. She also studies at The Art League School and Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA.)

Largely self-taught and an ardent admirer of the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists, Claudette has studied art at The Art League School, Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA), and taken numerous workshops with well-known artists. She works in oil, acrylic, pastel, and other media to create light-filled subjects ranging from landscapes, animals, portraits, and angels to abstracts. She brings her deeply felt spiritual nature to her artistry, resulting in colorful images that offer a refuge from stress and a return to inner peace and joy.
