Jewell enjoys painting landscapes, birds and waterfowl. Many of Jewell's compositions are created from her own photographs using a variety of subject matter combining realism and impressionism. In addition to painting on canvas and paper, she also uses the monotype technique. After painting the composition on glass, she then presses the art paper against the painting, which creates the image. All of this technique is done by hand. This process results in an impressionistic one of a kind painting.
In addition to participating in numerous art shows, Jewell's work is exhibited in Virginia and also in private collections.
