PATRICIA HAFKEMEYER is originally from Connecticut and has been a resident of Virginia since 1995. She studied art at The University of Connecticut, later receiving a degree in Education. She accompanied her husband to several military posts overseas, where she took art classes in various painting disciplines whenever she had the opportunity.
Recently retired after almost 40 years of teaching, Pat now dedicates more time to her painting. She enjoys the detailed work of pen and ink with watercolor, as well as oil painting.
Pat is an active member of the Springfield Art Guild and the Virginia Watercolor Society. She often takes workshops and painting classes learning new methods to improve her work. Painting landscapes, florals, birds, and trees are some of her favorite themes.
She participates in local art shows where her work has been sold. Pat’s paintings have been shown at several juried art shows in Northern Virginia, including Art at the Mill in Millwood, Green Spring Gardens in Alexandria, the Goodwin House in Alexandria, and the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton.
