About the Artists:
GEORGE JONES III – Since the introduction to the craft of woodturning, over 20 years ago, George has had the opportunity to study under a number of internationally renowned wood artists. “All of my pieces are unique, from bowls to wall art. Each tells a story and are important to me. Hopefully the love and fulfillment I gain from creating each piece is apparent and brings enjoyment to those who see them. The best thing about being an artist is the gift of learning and growing from each piece. Each piece of artwork pushes me to grow and embrace new ideas.”
KAJA KOOL – Kaja Kool is a ceramic artist. After a career as a management consultant, followed by time raising her two sons, Kaja turned to pottery as a creative outlet – and what began as a hobby turned into a passion. She particularly enjoys creating forms that are functional; they serve a practical purpose as well as being decorative. With endless shapes, clays, glazes, and techniques to experiment with, Kaja finds constant inspiration to continue growing and creating new works. The Loft Gallery is her first foray into exhibiting her art.
MAUREEN STOREY – Maureen Storey is a fused and stained-glass artist. Maureen was a nutrition scientist who enjoyed a 35+ career in the food industry. Upon retirement from her first career, Maureen undertook an encore career creating fused (kiln-formed) glass artwork and then branching out to create stained glass panels and window-hanging figures. She solely owns storeyweaver designs in glass, LLC www.storeyweaverdesignsinglass.com. Maureen was 2019 president of the National Capital Art Glass Guild and remains a member of this organization.
