About the Artists:
PATRICIA HAFKEMEYER
Patricia Hafkemeyer has been a member of the Loft Gallery for over three years. She has always enjoyed painting and drawing throughout her life. After retiring from teaching a few years ago, she is enjoying her art even more. Her favorite themes are serene landscapes, vibrant florals, birds, and all things nature!
Pat enjoys the detailed work of pen and ink and the different techniques used to obtain textures in her watercolor paintings. She also uses mixed media and also paints in oils. She believes you don’t have to look far for your next inspiration for a painting, because nature is everywhere. Pat is a board member of the Springfield Art Guild and a member of the Virginia Watercolor Society. She has been in many juried art shows to include: Art at the Mill in Millwood, Green Springs Gardens, the Goodwin House in Alexandria, the Franconia Government Center, the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, Open Space Arts Gallery at Stone Bridge in Woodbridge and the Tryon Painters and Sculptors Gallery in Tryon, NC.
GEORGE JONES III
Since the introduction to the craft of woodturning, over 17 years ago, George has had the opportunity to study under a number of internationally renowned wood artists. “All of my pieces are unique, from bowls to wall art. Each tells a story and are important to me.
Hopefully the love and fulfillment I gain from creating each piece is apparent and brings enjoyment to those who see them. The best thing about being an artist is the gift of learning and growing from each piece. Each piece of artwork pushes me to grow and embrace new ideas
