Claire Bentley retired in 2007 from teaching and began watercolor classes at the Workhouse Art Center. That began her love of watercolor and many experiences with classes, workshops, outings, and overseas travel. She also uses acrylics and mixed media, although watercolor is still her preferred medium. Claire is a member of the Springfield Art Guild, Virginia Watercolor Society, and The Loft Gallery in Occoquan, VA and has participated in numerous Virginia art exhibits.

About the Exhibit:
Travel has expanded my views and inspired many pieces of art. New destinations help one appreciate land, architecture, people, and culture. Being in a structure built in the 9th century and is still used today is very impressive. Standing on a piece of land that people lived on 3,000 years ago puts one’s life in perspective. The paintings in this exhibit are my memories of such trips.
